Abstract

In January 2023, West Java experienced Year on Year (yoy) inflation of 6.06 percent. This figure shows that the prices of goods and services in West Java rose 6.06 percent compared to January 2022. This inflation rate is higher than national inflation of 3.73 percent. This makes West Java one of the provinces with the highest inflation in Indonesia. The highest inflation in West Java occurred in the city of Bandung, namely 7.37 percent. Meanwhile, the lowest inflation occurred in Sukabumi City, namely 5.24 percent. The main cause of inflation in West Java is the increase in food prices, especially rice, meat and eggs. The West Java Provincial Government continues to strive to control inflation, including by conducting market operations, distributing social assistance, and monitoring prices of goods and services.
