In May 2023, West Java experienced Year on Year (YoY) inflation of 4.32 percent. This figure shows the increase in prices of goods and services in West Java in the last year. Compared to the previous month: April 2023: 4.55 percent March 2023: 4.79 percent Some important points: Reason: Increase in fuel prices Increase in food prices Increased demand for goods and services Impact: Declining people's purchasing power Increasing poverty Slowing economic growth Efforts to control inflation: Maintaining fuel price stability Increase food supply Facilitate the distribution of goods and services Providing social assistance to the poor Even though inflation is still occurring, the West Java government continues to strive to control it and maintain people's purchasing power. Notes: National inflation in May 2023 will be 3.63 percent. West Java still has higher inflation than national inflation. Continuous efforts need to be made to maintain price stability and people's purchasing power.
