Abstract

In February 2023, West Java experienced Year on Year (YoY) inflation of 6.17 percent. This figure shows the increase in prices of goods and services in West Java compared to February 2022. Compared to: January 2023: 5.88 percent (YoY) March 2023: 5.25 percent (YoY) Some important points: Causes of inflation: Increasing public demand Disruption to the supply of several foodstuffs Increase in fuel prices Impact of inflation: Declining people's purchasing power Increasing poverty Slowing economic growth Commodities contributing to inflation: Rice Red chili pepper Red onion Chicken meat Salted fish Efforts to control inflation: Maintain food supplies Carrying out market operations Providing subsidies to the community Controlling fuel prices Even though inflation in West Java is still relatively low compared to national inflation, it needs serious attention. It is hoped that with various efforts, inflation in West Java can be controlled and people's purchasing power can be maintained. Notes: National inflation in February 2023 was 5.28 percent (YoY). West Java has higher inflation compared to national inflation in February 2023. Continuous efforts need to be made to control inflation and maintain economic stability in West Java.
