Abstract

In 2022, West Java will record brilliant results in the rice harvest. The rice harvest area reached 1.66 million hectares, an increase of 58.29 thousand hectares or 5.06 percent compared to 2021. This resulted in rice production of 9.43 million tons of dry milled grain (GKG), showing an increase of 0.51 million tons of GKG or 5.56 percent compared to 2021. Some important points: Increase in harvested area and rice production: Influenced by various factors, such as: Favorable weather Use of superior rice varieties Application of advanced agricultural technology Government support through programs and policies West Java as a national rice granary: It remains one of the largest rice producing provinces in Indonesia Contributes significantly to national food security Efforts to continue to increase rice yields: This needs to be done on an ongoing basis, such as: Expand the planting area Increase cultivation efficiency Strengthening agricultural infrastructure Expanding access to technology and information Improving the quality of farmer human resources West Java's achievements in rice harvest in 2022 should be appreciated.
