Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (IT) to the price index paid by farmers (IB).

NTP is a proxy indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and production costs.

West Java NTP in December 2020, the Food Crops subsector experienced a decline of 1.24 percent; the Horticulture crop subsector experienced an increase of 2.17 percent; the Community Plantation Crops subsector experienced a decline of 2.45 percent; the Livestock subsector experienced an increase of 0.80 percent; and the Fisheries subsector with an increase of 1.27 percent.

The West Java Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in December 2020 fell by 0.27 to 100.72 compared to the previous month.

Household consumption in rural areas experienced inflation of 0.59 percent.

The index paid by farmers for production process needs, Production Costs and Additional Capital Goods (BPPBM) in December 2020 increased by 0.18 percent.
