Abstract

West Java's economy in 2022 will show encouraging growth, reaching 5.45 percent. This figure is higher than the national growth of 3.69 percent and makes West Java the province with the highest economic growth on the island of Java. This growth is driven by various sectors, especially the processing, transportation and warehousing industries, as well as other services. The processing industry sector provided the largest contribution to West Java's GDP growth, namely 22.14 percent. Compared to 2021, West Java's economic growth in 2022 will increase significantly. In 2021, West Java's economy will only grow by 3.74 percent. This economic growth has had a positive impact on increasing the per capita income of the people of West Java, which will reach IDR 49,038,410 per year in 2022. Despite experiencing positive growth, there are still several challenges faced by the West Java economy. These challenges include global uncertainty, inflation and income inequality. The West Java Provincial Government continues to strive to strengthen the regional economy and improve community welfare. These efforts include increasing investment, encouraging MSMEs, and creating jobs.
